What do you hear when you listen to French collective NO TONGUES? I hear gorgeous sonic landscapes formed by the instruments around us. Somehow this group takes rain, bees, tools, appliances, decor, and human movement and shows me that the lines between music and sound are arbitrary. Today we’re sharing their video for “Parrandada De Entroido Do Canizo” featuring vocals from Elsa Corre, directed by Charlie Mars. This track is so captivating I just want to take some edibles and lay on my couch listening to the vinyl from start to finish. The juxtaposition between the natural instrumentation and the electronic glitches on this is magnificent and would definitely send my high brain spiraling off into some other plane of existence. “Parrandada De Entroido Do Canizo” is off their upcoming album ICI that’s out on November 25 via Ormo Records, Pagans Records, and Carton Records.

With this music video, we decided to continue our partnership with Charlie Mars, a talented French filmmaker who has created several amazing videos since our very first album. He has a unique creative vision, full of improvisation while shooting and very rhythmic for editing. We tried in this short film to paint a mysterious, powerful, moving popular force. We called friends to be in this crowd, shot in one of our gardens… And Charlie gave birth to these warrior people! We love it!
