Gilles Poizat originally wrote this music to accompany "La Séance", a choreography by Benjamin Coyle for a dance troupe called Kopfkino. We hear a trumpet that is used sparingly and effectively - sometimes stuffed, often electronically alienated, always played very pleasantly - and chirping electronics. Sometimes it can be bulky, sometimes almost groovy - just like the dance evening that goes with it, a clever and well-considered modular system undoubtedly offers exciting possibilities and Poizat knows how to use it skillfully. Whereby the material became in a certain way independent and in the process of becoming a CD turned into an autonomous work of art, a very impressive blend of jazz improvisation, free ambient and discreetly avant-garde electronics. So actually to something that can also be thought of as “la séance” with a mushroom flame. 5
